Cement Slabs

It appears as though this week will be a week of lots of progress! Yesterday one group of guys started by spreading and packing down a sand base for the garage and then framed up a mold filled with rebar. Meanwhile another set of guys went to town on the basement doorway, pounding it into pieces they could toss out of the way. Once that was done, they covered the basement floor (aka the gravel from last week) with blue styrofoam, and then another gigantic cement truck came! They poured the garage slab and the basement floor (on top of the blue styrofoam). It was pretty cool to watch them turn sloppy looking cement into super smooth surfaces!
