Fewer Studs

Not a whole lot happened noticeably today. They put 2x4s in next to the crooked ones in the kitchen wall and used a string line to nail them so that they are straight in line with the ones in the addition. The electrician was here and took care of some of the scary wires that can be seen in yesterday's post, removing old wiring and replacing the important ones (I think?). They also opened up the kitchen to the new space by cutting away the old wall studs between the two spaces. It was super loud and made the entire house shake! They also finished up the last bit of the garage, which has the exact same footprint as the old one, but just with a taller roof-line.

Yesterday
Today...after adding new 2x4s....really shows off how NOT straight the old boards are!

No more studs! (between the room I am standing in to take the picture and the kitchen)

They also put new boards along the old ones in the ceiling to make the ceiling level...because yes, ladies and gentlemen, that was not square or level either. Surprise!

New heat vent and/or cold air return (?)

Kitchen window!

I'll give you $5 (in monopoly money!) if you can find our stove and kitchen table

New garage! The taller roof line makes it look gigantic!

The full view, minus the porta potty that I specifically left out of the picture
